Our philosophy
Positive Peace Practice
Celebrate the peace within us, between us and among us.
We are a Dundee-based Community Interest Company building Positive Peace Practice at the core of everything we do in life. It exists to celebrate the peace within us, between us and among us.
Know peace
Positive Peace Practice is taking deliberate time to know peace. We organise and facilitate enjoyable ways of doing this through Contemplative Action. This action encourages us to slow, stop and sense our being in natural peace at any given time during fun and engaging events.
We work with individuals, groups and organisations by exploring peace through arts, movement, nature, celebration events, ideas exchange and other educational approaches.
Contemplative Action gives us a way of developing Positive Peace Consciousness: our own unique way to help ourselves and others thrive in our modern world.
Grow community
True celebration of what matters to us all means recognising our innate human drive to honour, validate and live peacefully.
Our experience of extending Positive Peace Practice to everyday situations in our families, work relationships and friendships is that all of us are better positioned to meet our life challenges.
Peace n Jam offers experiences that help celebrate peace moving outward from within us to between us, right now in the hearts of our own community.
Communities grow when they can peacefully bond around common goals, overcome adversity with respect, bridge differences in understanding or expectations, create lasting social justice and uphold compassionate dignity for all people. This means shifting our thinking from scarcity to abundance.
Love life
Peace n Jam connects Positive Peace Practice to a fundamental, crucial and necessary protective factor that helps us all to be well, particularly people who are struggling in life or in recovery, regardless of background, culture or standing. Peace loves life.
We adopt emancipatory educational practices. However people arrive to work with us, they are met with our positive energy, compassion and fresh thinking that goes beyond traditional pedagogies. We approach every activity with unconditional positive regard for each person and the group. We embrace diversity and difference in all its multiplicities.
We aspire to embody openness and learn alongside those who engage. Our activities are relatable and down-to-earth, seeking to help from a place of mutual human value.
A life truly worth loving
To work in community in this way, we aspire to connect more and more people across Scotland so that we can grow together positively and know peace in a life that is truly worth loving.
We know that more connected, loving and peaceful citizens are attuned to spirited social justice beyond the privilege of the few. We will work for this and remain open to learning from you.
Founder and Managing Director
About Dominic
With 30 years’ experience in education, arts, community leadership, project management, coaching and cross-sector organisational support, Peace n Jam founder and Managing Director Dominic Venditozzi employs a range of professional skills in a relatable, everyday way to address preventative public health concerns and social wellbeing issues.
Dominic takes a unique approach to the spiritual dimension of education as ‘learning through being human’. He places his own learning and experience in Christian Contemplative Action, Buddhist thinking and humanistic sense-making for social emancipation at the centre of all activities. Without jargon, his engaging and fun activities retain the necessary seriousness afforded by his knowledge of curriculum-making, relational learning and impact assessment for future co-development.
As well as being a loving family man and community-conscious activist, Dominic is a musician and DJ with over 30 years of performing, recording and promotion experience in community DIY, independent and counter-culture scenes. As Lux Lucis, he now runs Dundee’s only sober disco, blending contemplative practice with the energy and atmosphere of a unique club for discerning and open-minded music fans. You also get a wee piece n jam if you come. His Peace n Jam DJ partner, Miss D Love, is a local underground alt-club legend.
Founded in July 2025, Peace n Jam already engages nationally with the Scottish Peace Platform, Recovery Collective, Cooper Gallery at Duncan of Jordanstone, Educators for Peace, The Maxwell Centre and RSPB Recovery. Dominic is developing community relationships with independent artists, community venues, makers, academics, spiritual groups, youth initiatives, third sector organisations and educators in and beyond Dundee City.
